Vikram Dev Dutt appointed next CEO of Air india
Vikram Dev Dutt has been appointed the next CEO of Air India.
As part of a senior-level bureaucratic restructuring carried out by the Centre on Tuesday, veteran bureaucrat Vikram Dev Dutt was appointed Chairman & Managing Director of Air India Ltd.
Dutt is the Principal Secretary (Tourism) in the Delhi government. He is a 1993-batch IAS officer from the AGMUT (Arunachal Pradesh, Goa, Mizoram, and Union Territory) cadre.
According to an order issued by the Personnel Ministry, he has been appointed as the Air India chief with the rank and pay of Additional Secretary
In October of last year, the Centre accepted Tata Sons' offer of Rs 18,000 crore to buy 100% of the debt-ridden state-run carrier. The takeover process is still ongoing.
Talace Pvt Ltd, a subsidiary of the salt-to-software conglomerate's holding firm, had submitted the winning bid of Rs 2,700 crore in cash and Rs 15,300 crore in debt.
The Delhi Development Authority has chosen Manish Kumar Gupta as Vice Chairman (DDA).

Hari Ranjan Rao, Additional Secretary of the Department of Telecommunications, has been named Administrator of the Department of Telecommunications' Universal Service Obligation Fund.
Rao has been replaced as Additional Secretary, Department of Telecommunications by V L Kantha Rao, Additional Secretary and Director General (Acquisition), Ministry of Defence.
In place of Rao, the order named Pankaj Agrawal, an Additional Secretary in the Cabinet Secretariat, as the new Additional Secretary and Director General (Acquisition) of the Ministry of Defence.
Santosh Kumar Sarangi, an Odisha cadre IAS officer from the 1994 batch, will be the Director General of the Ministry of Commerce and Industry's Directorate General of Foreign Trade.
He is currently the Department of School Education and Literacy's Additional Secretary.
Chanchal Kumar, a Bihar cadre IAS officer from the 1992 batch, has been named Managing Director of the National Highways & Infrastructure Development Corporation Ltd, according to the statement.
Kumar is now Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar's principal secretary.
B V Umadevi, the Additional Secretary of the Ministry of Environment, Forests, and Climate Change, has been promoted to the Ministry of Home Affairs.
Additional Secretary, Cabinet Secretariat, Anuradha Thakur has been promoted to Additional Secretary, Ministry of Corporate Affairs.
Shashank Goel and Shailesh Kumar Singh have been named Additional Secretaries in the Ministries of Labour and Employment and Development Commissioner in the Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises, respectively.
According to the directive, Naresh Pal Gangwar, Joint Secretary, Ministry of Environment, Forest & Climate Change, will be promoted to Additional Secretary, Ministry of Environment, Forest & Climate Change.
